COLORS

Discover the world of colors! Explore color theory, psychology, and practical applications to enhance your creativity and design skills.

Primary colors

Primary colors are the foundation for creating other colors and cannot be created by mixing other colors. In art class, we learned that the three primary colors are Red, Yellow, and Blue (RYB). In the world of physics, however, the three primary colors are Red, Green,
and Blue (RGB).

Secondary colors

Secondary colors are colors that are created by mixing equal parts of two primary colors. On the color wheel, secondary colors are located between the primary colors. For example, red and yellow make orange, red and blue make purple, and blue and yellow make green.

Tint, Shade and Tone

In color theory, a tint is a mixture of a color with white, which increases lightness, while a shade is a mixture with black, which increases darkness. Both processes affect the resulting color mixture’s relative saturation. A tone is produced either by mixing a color with gray, or by both tinting and shading.

Colors psychology

olor psychology is the study of how colors affect perceptions and behaviors. In marketing and branding, color psychology is focused on how colors impact consumers’ impressions of a brand and whether or not they persuade consumers to consider specific brands or make a purchase.
